Cherington’s trade for Falter is going down as an absolute steal thus far.

Impressive that the Pirates have won 6 of 9 and of the 3 losses, one was on a brutal call at home plate to decide a game, and in the other two they led by 4 runs in the 8th inning before having a bullpen meltdown.

So, bottom line, except for 2 bullpen disasters, this team has controlled 8 of the last 9 games ... against good teams too ... the Cubs, Giants, Braves.
