For anyone who feels that Cruz should play SS, I hope you
saw Cruz drop that easy pop-up with 2 outs that resulted in
the Giants scoring 2 runs.

But he wants to play SS.

And everybody has to play.

This is not a little league or t-ball league team.

We're lucky Shelton doesn't bat them in alphabetical order or by position (1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF etc.)

Perez pitches around a two out walk. He’s having a bit of trouble finding the strike zone tonight. Still 2-1 G-Men.

In the 4th, Gonzales shows Cruz how to catch a pop-up. Twice. Giants single twice but don’t score. Perez at 83 pitches already, less than half of them for strikes. Yet, he shouldn’t have surrendered the two runs.

Perez walks the first hitter in the 5th, finally throws a strike (to Estrada), who sends it to the bleachers in left. 4-1 Giants.

Ortiz relieves Perez in the 5th after a Chapman double.

Ortiz gives up a single and a walk to load the bases with one out.

Ortiz gets it together and gets the final two outs on pop ups. Nice job. 4-1 Giants through four and a half.
