86-76 682 runs.
Starting pitching and bullpen depth at MLB and AAA pay off. Offensive is thin but Hayes remains healthy all year to help get us to the playoffs (fingers crossed and prayers offered for this one!).

Re: 2025 Spring Training
Bae with a really nice ST so far. New, more upright batting stance seems to be paying off for him. Obviously headed back to AAA for more innings in CF as he learns to play it better, but he will probably see some MLB time this year and hopefully he can finally make it more successful than in the past.

Re: 2024 Off-Season Thread
Thought we'd be on this list, but I guess it shows we have company for the worst offseason:

Re: 2024 Off-Season Thread
The Pirates are signing Andrew Heaney on a Major League Contract of 5 million plus incentives. While I admit a team never has enough major league pitching, this season is a perfect time to introduce the younger pitchers (Ashcraft, Chandler, Burrows, and/or Harrington) to the major leagues in prepar...

Re: 2024 Off-Season Thread
Ramon Laueano who I considered a possible corner outfielder has signed with the Orioles for 4 million dollars. I guess too expensive for the Pirates. I'm surprised as they have already signed Dylan Carlson and Tyler O'Neill this off season and have Cowser and Mullins back who were really solid last...

Re: 2024 Off-Season Thread
Well, this is a longshot. But, hear me out. There hasn't been much turnover at all, mostly replacing a bit piece with a bit piece. I don't have the time to hunt down every possible interview I've seen a clip of or blurb I heard on the radio. Primarily, it was Skenes, Cutch, and Jones that I recall ...

Re: 2024 Off-Season Thread
Oviedo has to prove himself after Tommy John. In all the guesswork articles that keep the winter months active with baseball stuff, I continue to be amazed at how Mike Burrows is completely forgotten. I think it was significant that he got the September call up even though it was just for a few inn...

Re: 2024 Off-Season Thread
All praise for Hague as new hitting coach and no one thinks he told the brass that Horwitz was a guy to look at closely. He was a 24th rounder out of some small college I have never heard of and climbed through the minors as a severe non-prospect to the tune of 307/.413/.471. Then he gets a first re...

Re: 2024 Off-Season Thread
Strzelecki is BP fodder. He was DFA'd by Cleveland. If he makes the team, he'll probably be the last guy in the BP. All teams make these minor moves in the offseason. The problem with the Pirates is that these minor moves are the only moves they make. So we tend to scrutinize them more than we woul...

Re: 2024 Official Minors Thread
Interesting that both McAdoo for the Jays and Reilly for the O's are at the top of their team's breakout lists.
