In addition to ignoring the need for more offense, I continue to feel that one of the biggest mistakes this offseason was not bringing back Aroldis Chapman. So far this year for the Red Sox he has 2 wins, 2 saves, an ERA of 0.00 and 8K’s in 5 innings. If he was still with the Bucs our record could be 8-5 instead of 5-8.

I wonder if it was a case of Chapman having no interest in staying.

The Red Sox are only paying Chapman $250K more than what the Pirates paid him in 2024. I gotta believe if the Pirates really wanted him they could have negotiated a deal. They knew Bednar was a question mark this off season. Ferguson has been a decent pick up, but Chapman is still elite. Still throwing 104 and 105 MPH gas.
The front office blew it in my opinion.

I don't blame Chapman if he wanted out of Pittsburgh.
