Roster moves.

Looks like Bucs are calling up RH reliever Isaac Mattson. Woodford's locker is reported to be cleared out. Mattson, 28, is a career minor leaguer who had a cup 'o coffee with the Orioles in 2021. Mattson had a good season this year both at Altoona and Indy. He's from Erie, PA and went to Pitt.
There's no basement in the Alamo.

Must read article by Joe Starky in todays Post Gazette (if you can get it)
In the article compares the Brewers and the Bucs. Actually it is what Bobster,
doc, possum, and to some extent, Surg have been saying all along
about Nutting.

Bucs have parted ways with Rowdy and Taylor. Paguro an Palacios recalled.

Wow, only four months over due. Good work, Bucs.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 6:41 pm Bucs have parted ways with Rowdy and Taylor. Paguro an Palacios recalled.

great that Paguro and Palacios are getting a chance. Don't know why this didn't happen sooner other than Bucco management are morons.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 6:41 pm Bucs have parted ways with Rowdy and Taylor. Paguro an Palacios recalled.
Re: Roster moves.
There's no mention of this on the Pirates website. Is it that they're too embarrassed to bring it up?

Like it was mentioned. Why wait until now.?? Just plain damn stupid.
Re: Roster moves.
We can surmise that Nutting forced BC to keep the two on the roster because he didn't want to pay them to not work. Just another great way to run a ball club.Wildwoodcoach wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 7:21 pm Like it was mentioned. Why wait until now.?? Just plain damn stupid.
Re: Roster moves.
another reason Tellez is gone:
t’s also possible there’s a financial motivation for moving on from Tellez. Per Ethan Hullihen on X, Tellez would have unlocked a $200K bonus by getting to 425 plate appearances and is currently at 421.
This is from the MLB Trade Rumors story.

Re: Roster moves.
People are roasting the Pirates about Tellez not being able to get the 200K bonus. Really?
The same people who have wanted him gone all season, now on his side?
I'd just like to ask them this: Do you think Tellez actually deserves a bonus, for 2 good months that don't even remotely wipe out 3 isanely bad ones and one above average one?
Pirates went into a free fall in August, a level I doubt anyone expected. For better or worse, they were part of the team that was truly in contention for the playoffs at the end of July. MAT was reported to have been put on waivers, and no claims. I wonder if Tellez was also, and we just weren't informed. Also, I have no doubt Tellez was probably offered around prior to the deadline, and there were no takers.
Unfortunately, it's what we already know. This team just continues to do things the wrong way. Bargain basement shopping hoping for a rebound and a deadline flip. It matters not to me the woulda shoulda coulda's with these two guys. They were never going to offer much, fetch much, and the Pirates were stuck with them.
Champion or roast BC and BN for the Tellez issue. You don't really care. For us though, it's pretty much all we have to talk about with this team, the never ending head scratching trying to figure out what the hell they're actually trying to accomplish. So we can draw up sides on this, tastes great, less filling. In the end it's just business as usual with this team.
The offseason can't get here soon enough.
