I had forgotten about Chad Kuhl. He was released by the Nats in late June with an ERA of 8.45. Doesn't appear he was picked up by anyone.

Kuhl decided to call it a season as his wife has some health issues he wanted to focus on. He plans on picking back up in the spring.

Despite the unparalleled magnificence of his pitch framing, seldom seen in this hemisphere, Hedges had started only 5 games in the 2 months he's been with Texas. However, he has managed to get 5 singles in 21 ABs for a sparkling .238 BA. So apparently, they just want him for his bat. That .238 would have been his career best, but combined with his Pirates stats, he's still just at .187 for the season. I hope Cherington's analytics department recalculates the advantage of pitch framing compared to the disadvantage of an automatic out in the lineup. I guess the Rangers use a different formula.
