It would be great if this Bonilla would be as good as the Bonilla we had in the late 1980s and early 1990s. I would take a 15 game winner who threw about 180 innings each year.

Every team makes these kind of signings. I don't get why people always think this is the Pirates big signing or move. If he stinks, he will be released just like the other players on waivers throughout the season. No harm in signing Bonilla.

This is like the Radames Liz signing from a few years back.
That one didn`t work.
Or Trey Healy last year . That didn`t work either.

Everyone makes them, but Pittsburgh makes them more than almost everyone. Is there a harm? No. I prefer signing solutions than failed 26-year old prospects. Atlanta signs Colon, Marlins - Volquez and we get this guy.
