If ChiSox want too much, I would think NH would go another route...Any thoughts on what other route will be for securing a Starting Pitcher?

I would like to chime in, I would think Tampa Bay would be a possible target. They have Smyly, Ordozzi and Cobb rumored to be available.

What do you other Bucco fans think?

I like all of those guys, but Tampa is so hard to trade with.

I just think the Pirates don't have that "need" anymore after signing Nova. They will still ask around, but they won't be offering big time players in return.

TB always seems like they are difficult to deal with. Over the years there have often been rumors about the Bucs and Rays. I don't think we've seen any of them come to fruition. But we need a lefty SP, so Smyly might fit.

Yea, Tampa Bay is difficult to deal with. I just don't think NH is going to give up our top prospects for Quintana...There has to be another team out there with starting pitcher to deal....Appreciate your insight fellow Bucco Fans! As you can tell, I am starved for Pirate News!

Yeah, we didn't send them Jason Bay because they didn't want to give up some crappy prospect that never amounted to anything anyhow. I was kinda rooting for Tampa (that was the year of their WS run) and was doubly disappointed. He could have made a difference for them.

I would like to see them attempt to sign Trevor Cahill or Travis Wood. That would be another veteran pitcher to the staff.

More in favor of Wood than Chahill. But good call.

Orioles traded Yovani Gallardo away today. Now he's most likely done, but I had seen his name in passing a few places so I thought I'd mention it.

and they make some bad deals too. Look at the Will Myers for Steven Sousa (part of three team deal with Nats and Padres).
