Whitey Ford and Middle Atlantic League

I had a Whitey Ford baseball card when I was younger and noticed that his first professional season was pitching for Butler Yankees.



Upon Whitey's passing, I decided to check his minor league record and other teams in the Middle Atlantic League in 1947 were:



Erie Sailors

Johnstown Johnnies

Niagara Falls Frontiers

Oil City Refiners

Uniontown Coal Barons

Vandergrift Pioneers

Youngstown Colts



Would be interesting to know history of that league and teams.



There were just 6 teams in 1951 which appears to be last year for the league (started in 1946)
