I know this is not a Pirate topic but Molina has signed a three year extension with the Cards for somewhere between 55 and 65 million. He is good, but that seems like alot to guarantee for a catcher who will turn 35 in July. The three years are for 2018-2020. He will be 38 when the contract ends.

will be a kiss of death contract for the Cards (actually it probably won't even be a bump in the road for them).

Sounds like a "thank you for the career" contract.  He is a special leader, but his play has to be declining some.

As much as I want all of this to be true, i'll bet it isn't. I bet he remains great. He had a great WBC. This is the way it goes for the Cards/Pirates.

I don't know there is anything to this, but a broadcast guy or reporter for the Cardinals was on the FAN and was talking about the possibility of the Cardinals acquiring Quintana; though the Cards could stay with the Cubs if this were to happen.

First I've heard of the Cardinals interested. UGotta admit, should that happen I would literally be sick.

I have been expecting this all offseason. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they make it happen.
