Sometimes things just pop into my head. Call me crazy. But I am amused enough by this to share and see what everyone thinks. Not proposing we do this, just musing over what it would be like. So, here it is:

In some other universe, all 9 guys bat once each, every inning, in any order. There are maybe 4 or 5 innings per game. Guys left on base simply do not score; they do not come back out the next inning or anything like that.

Won't work - too expensive for the Pirates, or something like that.

This happens in little league. Everyone bats. The last kid gets to run around all the bases until he gets out or scores.

We have to be fair now: Everyone plays, everyone bats.

To be fair that is little, little league. Like 5 and 6 year olds. Having a grandson who went through it a couple of years ago, it's not that bad since the kids usually can't make three real outs to end the inning anyway. Plus, running the bases is what its all about for a 5 year old!

Doesn't cricket have everyone bat in an inning, but each batter keeps batting until he is put out?
