1. John Jaso (L) RF

2. Jordy Mercer (R) SS

3. Josh Bell (S) 1B

4. Gregory Polanco (L) CF

5. Jose Osuna (R) LF

6. Phil Gosselin (R) 2B

7. Gift Ngoepe (R) 3B

8. Chris Stewart (R) C

9. Tyler Glasnow (L) P

The defensive alignment is offensive. Glasnow better not pitch to contact.

Defensively, that lineup is terrifying.

And not in a good way.

I only have two (big) problems with that lineup.

1. Why does Jaso continue to start?

2. Why is Gooselin even on the roster?

No excuse to run this kind of lineup out when you have a chance to sweep a team in the division. Gosselin needs to be DFA as soon as both Frazier and Freese are back. No excuse in the world for the Pirates to send Gift down and keep Gosselin when Freese and Frazier are back. The Pirates need to wake up with a lot of these roster moves they need to make moving forward. At the end of the day as I've been saying this team is still not going anywhere it's not a playoff team and a good overall contending baseball team. Anybody that thinks otherwise is in denial. I know some people will say they are only 2 games out of first place now but realistically moving forward this isn't going to continue.

This lineup borders on hilarity. The worst outfield combination imaginable. 2 guys hitting below .160, 2 other guys with 50 major league at bats, the backup catcher, a .217 hitting shortstop, a .235 hitter and Bell. It's a good thing we are throwing a pitcher with a problem trying to be too perfect.

What kind of sick individual would construct a lineup like the one the Pirates are running out there today?

Oh yeah, Hurdle would...nevermind...

You guys act like Hurdle has never done this on a Sunday before, LOL. So far so good for Glasnow. 10 pitches, 3 outs.

Ten pitches for Glasnow in the first inning. Best I've seen him.

On the pregame Hurdle cited a combination of the rain delay game and the upcoming road trip (no day off heading to LA) as the reason for the lineup.
