Early Thread today...nice little run here taking 6 of 8. Now we need our ace to get things started right in ATL. No Freeman helps our cause.

Loosing Freeman was a tough break for Atlanta (and for Braves fans). I see the Braves traded for Matt Adams from the Cards (even though no one is doing trades at this time in the season). Let's hope he doesn't pick up this week where Freeman left off.

The Cardinals had to pay Atlanta to take Adams. Not sure how good Adams is in the outfield, but I would take him on the Pirates bench. But this was no block-buster deal by any means.
The Pirates can really move up in the standings this week with the Reds and Cardinals playing some better teams.

Yeah but you'd think we would be able to find a Matt Adams-esque outfielder on someone's roster by now.

The sense I had is that Adams was poor as an outfielder but okay at first (not great, but okay). The outfield equivalent would have been nice along the way. Frazier seems to be doing well in that stand-in role and is hitting almost perfectly for a lead-off guy, so maybe NH knew what he was doing after all.

Frazier with a streak of 6 games with multi hits in games he started...
only got a PH on the 19th and went 0-1
was curious about the official records on that...
looks like Waner and another guy i've never heard of had 10 straight multi hit games for the Pirates...
Frazier officially is at 2 straight.... let's go for at least 9 more kid!!!

The more the better IMO
Adams, Donny Iris, and yours truly round out the top 3 most famous SRU alums in my opinion!
