I just don't get Stewart over Diaz on a regular basis if Cervelli is out of the picture.
Isn't Diaz significantly better than Stewart?
Stewart strikes me as the prototype veteran backup who should catch 1-2 times a week. He should not be blocking Diaz, especially if the FO is concerned about making sure Diaz gets enough at-bats.
Makes no sense.

Cole is at 72 pitches through 4
Too many for this bullpen but the Cards lineup wouldn't scare the Indianapolis pitching staff
Hope he can get through the 5th and 6th and we get a few more runs so we don't have to use Rivero tonight

Stewart might be starting because he was batting .400 vs. Lynn...but now he's down to .285

Pirates manufacture a nice run in the 6th.
Freese singles. Cutch singles (freese to 3rd), and Merced scores Freese.

Plus, Hurdle knew Lynn would IBB Stewart (due to the lofty BA against), walk Cole. Relief P HBP Frazier and we got another run. Stewart walks home when Harrison HBP. The man is a bottom of the order genius.
