He's a guy I thought would be a really good off-season one year signing.



The Braves thought so too. We were both wrong.

Living in Atlanta, I have heard nothing but negative about Bartolo. The fans want him gone and rightfully so. The guy is getting hit pretty hard consistently and not giving the team any mileage. The Braves Mgr,Brian Snitker has given him every opportunity. Bartolo has pitched well beyond most starters. Tip of the New ERA to Bartolo Colon...

But the Braves spent so much money? How did this not work out?

Um, maybe because they spent it on a 44 year old pitcher? But hey, Dog, you're right. Since the Pirates don't spend much money by MLB standards, spending money must be bad, must be wrong. I'm convinced. I hope the Pirates never increase spending because Colon foolishly received a contract by the Braves. ::)

People were saying "look at the Braves, look how they are spending". Yeah, they spent stupid money. Higher payroll than the Pirates, same record (I think).

People also said why did they go get Matt Adams when they have Freeman. That is working out pretty good so far.

I thought people were mad the Pirates didn't go after Adams?



The Braves are certainly a surprise. They have a lot of old veterans in their line up and rotation. They can be big time sellers this deadline and trade their veterans away. Maybe that was their plan all along? They don't have many young guys for a team that was supposed to be rebuilding (only Swanson, Teheran, Foltynewics).



With that said, I feel teams fear the Cubs, Cardinals, Mets, Marlins, and Pirates over the Braves.
