4 games from Altoona, it is a long road back for some

Was in Central PA/State College area for work early this week and was able to get to 4 Curve games, Saturday - Tuesday.

I'm no scout, just some general observations. We sat 3 rows from the field each game, between home plate and the visitor's dugout on 3rd base line.

Edwin Espinal - a lot of guys talk him up on P2. He has some power but if your looking for a guy to bust it down the first base line, he's not the guy.

Kevin Newman - has more work to do at AA but they moved him up to Indy today. His throws to 1B are a bit high and did sail one over Espinal's head on a routine grounder Tuesday night. Maybe getting a few hits off of Harrisburg's terrible pitching was all he needed for the promotion (?)

Jerrick Suiter - I was impressed with him back in June when we got to 3 games in Harrisburg. Big guy, TCU product. Decent arm in RF but I was especially impressed with his swing and ability to make solid contact. He is striking out a bit more than I would like to see but we did see him working on cutting down on his swing with the coaches prior to Tuesday's game. My sleeper pick to make a big move for the rest of the season - he's a much better player than the last Mayor of Altoona, Stetson Allie.

Wyatt Matheson - looked good last month in Harrisburg as well. Slumping badly last couple of weeks. He did look like he was pressing a bit. Defense at 3B, though, quite good. Maybe he'll turn it around last month and a half of the season.

Logan Hill - was playing RF and showed a great arm. He's just up from Bradenton and one to keep an eye on as he acclimates to AA. He had 16 HR in 267 A+ at bats in the Florida State League.

Pablo Reyes - could be the next Frazier but smaller. Ripped 3 HR while we were there...

The LONG Road Back refers to the pitchers. All of these guys were pitching in relief.

Crumpton - got lit up on Tuesday night. Curve gun had him 86-91 but straight as an arrow. Harrisburg is not a good team but Bowie is. Last 2 games - 2.2 IP, 9 hits, 6 ER, 3 walks and 2 Ks

Sadler - did look very good vs Harrisburg and dominated. 3 IP, 1 hit, 0 walks but only 2 Ks. Managment looked happy when he was coming back to the dugout. Gun was showing low 90's and a wicked breaking ball that was sneaking in there high 70's.

Cody Dickson - was moved to Altoona when Glasnow went to Indy. He's been struggling as well with his control. Started Monday's game and did a nice job, 5 IP, 2 hits, 0 ER, but 4 BB with 7 K's. He was in the mid 90s with his FB.

Best player on the field? Bowie's Mike Yastrzemski (Carl's grandson) was demoted from AAA back to Bowie. He does, though, dominate in AA. Their Austin Hays looks like he'll be a decent player as well.

Why is Espinal still in AA? Need to move him up or out.Not much left for the guy to do.

I agree; he should be promoted to AAA.  Terdoslavich can used off the bench or just released.
