Pretty safe to say with both Nova pitching tonight and Cole pitching tomorrow and things starting to slowly slip away from the Pirates that winning these last two games in SD is almost a MUST at this point. If you win these two games you will get back to a game under .500 at 52-53 heading home to play 8 games against teams you should beat and you would end this 9 game West Coast trip at 4-5 which all things considered wouldn't be a complete and total disaster. Safe to say these are two very very critical games in San Diego these next 24 hours or so to determine how things could go for the remainder of the season.

Is there any hope that Clint sees your messages and takes it to heart?

Rather than think there is not critical game until mid-September?

Clint doesn't seem to think any game is crucial. Certainly not Sundays. Or when he rests a key player who's recently had a day off because, well, you can never have enough days off. Or because the starter is pitching well but the formula says to put in a reliever who rarely has success. My biggest issue with Hurdle is that, while winning is preferred, no particular priority seems to be assigned to it.

Already trailing Padres by 2 after 1 inning. Yeah, that's encouraging.

It's time to start selling assets if they lose these last two to the Padres. Unfortunately, I don't see NH doing so. It would be a missed opportunity.

Can Lamet be the Padre pitcher that gets the Bucs bats going? Maybe second time through the order?

No way pirates not comfortable at all wouldn't be surprised if Lamet has a no no into the seventh.

Can't decide which of the Pirates' hits thru the first 4 innings I liked the most. Oh, never mind, there haven't been any.

4-0. The Padres sure are glad the Pirates came to town.
