The White Sox followed the Pirates way by extending Executive VP Ken Williams and GM Rick Hahn earlier this summer, but made it public in a recent conversation with the owner. I kind of wonder if Neal Huntington and Clint Hurdle have been extended without any press release. If they have been extended that is a very poor way to extend two of the clubs major team officials.

Of all the things, I still don't understand why this is a big deal.

It's not, but it has to be reported in a negative way to make people feel better about themselves.

The people mad about a "secret signing" were, let's face it, going to be mad no matter how things were treated.  You can not like the management and think they should lose their jobs, that's fine; but the uproar led by a few media members during that extension was just silly.
