Time to go play the last-place Reds.

The Reds three starters are a combined 7-16.

One has an ERA of 6.14.

Homer Bailey's ERA is 7.99.

They are terrible.

Why is this scenario always the Kiss of Death for the Pirates?

I realize that Billy Hamilton will hit homers and doubles and steal 5 bases each game, but why can't the Pirates hit the Reds' garbage pitching?

Not that it really matters any more, but I am dreading this series, and the next one, and the next one, and the next one. 13 straight games vs. the Reds and Cubs.

I think the Bucs have trouble with the Reds because they have several decent hitters in their lineup. Votto and as mentioned Hamilton give the Pirates so much trouble. We cannot out hit them.

Another reason we cannot beat the Reds is that Garrett Cole has pitched very poorly against them in his career. I not sure if he has ever beaten them on the road. He gets another shot at them tomorrow night.

He's never beaten them anywhere. Career 0-6, 5.14 ERA vs Reds.

Who has Cole pitched well against exactly? He really doesn't pitch well against many these days.
