Saw where Minky was let go in Twins Organization.

Boy, he has the passion and fire that our Bucs could use across the organization. I loved him when he played for the Bucs in 2008. I firmly believe having folks in the organization that 1) have played the game and 2) been successful and 3) are good motivators would benefit the Bucs on and off the field.

Just my two cents. :)

I liked him to just what this team needs, I'd love to have him as a manager to bad we just signed CH for 4 more wasted years, he might be a good GM. To bad we're satisfied with our sorry situation.

Why? What kind of coaching style does he have? What makes his coaching style better than Hurdle's? I have never seen him manage, I have no idea.

I don't like Hurdle but I know nothing about Mienkiewicz. On the other hand, when Hurdle was signed in 2011, his managing experience consisted of only 1 winning seasons in his 7+ years in Colorado. And even that winning team was essentially a .500 team or below until they had a red hot September. So it's not as if Hurdle was signed because of a great record of success.

His fiery personality I saw when he played for the Pirates, and his obvious knowledge of the game. Mike Matheney never managed a game before he took the helm of the Cardinals. Now he has the best winning percentage of any active manager in baseball. I believe DM has the same personality and baseball knowledge of experience as MM. We know what we have with Hurdle a lifetime below average manager and we are stuck with this crap for 4 more years.

Sadly, I suspect Hurdle was extended for 4 years because Nutting feels they don't need anyone better for a team that won't be given the resources to compete anyway.

which is a sad outlook. Are players going to want to play for a team and a manager that they know isn't going to go for it? There best bet to win is to wait for free agency or get traded?
