Joe "Blah, Blah, Blah" Block making an excuse for Rivero blowing last night's game says Rivero was rusty because he hadn't had a save opportunity in 17 days. While it's true he hadn't had a save opportunity since Sept 5, he subsequently pitched on Sept 11, 15, 20 and 22. Really Joe? Rusty?

Always good to score a touchdown in the first inning. Now, can we run out the clock?

So if our ace Cole could somehow win his 12th game of the year tonight it would be his 2nd career high in wins. So of course he was trailing 2-0 after 2 batters in the first. Now he'll begin the second inning with a big lead. I'm not sure he can hold it.

On another front, it was interesting to see Dexter Fowler loafing on Marte' triple. As soon as he saw the ball would be by him he Jaso'd his way to the wall to get it.

I am not sure he can either. Cole kind of reminds me of my golf game...almost impossible to get through nine without imploding somewhere. But, I will give Cole credit, he pitched a great 5 innings his last outing.

The trouble was, he pitched into the 6th. That used to be the MO for Locke and Morton. They looked great for a few innings and before they left, their pitching line was awful. Cole needs to be better than that but he isn't.

Well he is a millennial. We are lucky he gets to work for the opening pitch.

Cards are making a comeback. Bucs may lose this game yet.
