I kind of touched on some questions about strategy in another thread, so I will ask here. What strategies don't you like that the Pirates (or most teams) in baseball use?

Over the years, some strategies have changed. I think the sacrifice bunt has gone down over the years. Players are now swinging at 3-0 pitches.

Are there stats for these moves? The infield-in is still my least favorite strategy. I would love to see the numbers for the Pirates when they had the infield-in and the results.

I'm not a fan of the infield-in unless it is absolutely crucial that the runner on 3B not score. Like the 8th inning or later in a tie game. I also don't like when the Pirates have a runner on 3B run on contact.

Another strategy that is now a thing: Running on contact. I am not a fan either.

Infield-in should only be used if bases are loaded, zero outs, winning run on third base.

I think the best strategy for the Bucs and mainly Bob Nutting is to start a Go Fund Me page so he can afford a jump in payroll for 2018. You know enough to overpay a washed up over achiever to play 3B or top the Starting Rotation to begin with.

Ugh. I guess I will leave this thread now too.

The strategies I hate in baseball are when organizations don't care if they win baseball games, only care about profit and constantly lie to the people that buy tickets to watch their awful product.

Oh wait, there's only one organization in MLB that does that and it just happens to be The Pirates organization.

HAND OUT THE EXTENSIONS!!!!!

I agree that strategy doesn't matter much to the Pirates.  The extensions to NH and Clint look ridiculous the way the team is playing out the season.

Almost any other organization would can the manager for certain after this season and gm's would at least be on a very hot seat.

Less than 14,000 in attendance tonight.

Possum, as the fearless leader of OBN, do you think we can raise a Billion Dollars though the internet? Let's get the weight of OBN behind this and buy the team!

As Bob the Builder (not Nutting) - WE CAN DO IT!

The Pirates main strategy is to fleece the fans and blame them.

Did you buy your season tickets yet for next year?
