And the NFL thinks Goodell is a dictator! What about Rob Manfred? This is unbelievable punishment but it sends a clear message to cheaters.

WTM has a pretty good article on the Braves situation at bugsdugout today --

With the money the Pirates have available, assuming they don't bundle that to some team after the Japanese pitcher, they should be in play for some of those prospects.

I hope the Pirates get at least one of the players that the Braves have lost.

I can't determine if the punishment the Braves got for their violations is sufficient.
Until Dogknot chimes in to tell us whether this is appropriate for their violations, I don't think any of us are qualified to comment on it.
Once he explains it, then we'll know.

someone in comments section on MLB Trade Rumors keeps saying all the players should be banned for life.
I do not believe that is Dogknot but wanted to highlight that comment. Lots of people were not supporting the comment.

That's crazy. Absolutely no reason to punish the players. They did absolutely NOTHING wrong.

yeah, he posted it 3 or 4 times then another time he said they should be fined 500K. His rationale was that they should know the rules. Someone commented that was what agents were for and he repeated his comment.

Yeah, OK, some kid from the Dominican, who maybe has only been to school through the equivalent of 5th grade, and certainly can't read or write English, is going to know the rules of signing to play American professional baseball. Un huh. Some people's stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
