It's Poll Time- The #1 Prospect for 2018
OK, so it's poll time. I've put together my first list of 10; last year's #1 draft pick, 6 guys who finished in the top 10 last year, the top prospect who moved up from the Dominican last year, a guy who is about a month away from no longer being a rookie, and an up-and-comer starter. I had other considerations (Moroff, Kramer, Kingham, Santana and others), but please give me an idea of who you want to add next. Since it is a holiday (and I'm not doing anything, so why not get the party started?) I extended the time a little on this poll. And, of course, any comments why you picked who you picked or why you didn't pick someone are always welcome.
I think 1-2 should be pretty obvious but I don't expect a shutout by anyone.

thanks for posting. Perhaps add Newman for next round.

I made a mistake, had Newman and Kramer both in and decided to add someone else, meant to remove Kramer and removed Newman by mistake. Doesn't seem to be a difference maker in this round, will definitely add Newman.

I went with Meadows. I expect/hope him to have a good, healthy start in Triple A and be called up. He is one of the youngest players in all of Triple A.

I think Keller's high floor makes him the pick over Meadows at this point. Meadows has the higher ceiling as a #3 hitter in the lineup, but not sure he gets there anymore.

I don't think people realize how young Meadows is as he has been known for five years. He struggled in Triple A as a 21 year old and then wasn't healthy last year as a 22 year old. He is turning 23 in May.

I'm always torn when there is a difference in how close to the majors a player is. I like to see some performance (meaning I'm not too high on people who have been drafted but have never set foot on the field), and I normally tend to favor players who have made the cuts that get them to AAA over one a single or double A. My concerns with Meadows is the injury issue. Hamstings can be cronic.

It would be great if Meadows can be healthy and good. I'm putting him second based on his potential. In 2016 and 2017 he played in less than 100 games each year.
That has to have hurt his development. Hoping to get a chance to see what he can do if he is able to have a healthy season.

One thing I'd like to add before everyone starts casting their votes:
We added a second, double secret pitching coach, named Justin Meccage. Apparently having one genius (Ray Searage) pitching coach wasn't enough, despite his tremendous success.
Remember: It's always better to have two pitching coaches than it is to make changes to a 75 win team.
The reason I'm bringing this up is that I think you should all consider just how important Meccage is going to be to the success of our pitching prospects. His addition to the coaching staff should automatically make the stock of our pitching prospects skyrocket past our position prospects.
Please remember this when voting.
