A great great article.
Reading the article, I felt so sad for him.
Seeing the photo slide show at the end of the article: I remembered how much fun that Pirate team brought to Pirate fans, and really all baseball fans. I remember the energy, the excitment. I remember how fast Jung Ho won over the clubhouse and every fan. Peopled wanted him to succeed.
Then it was all gone. For Jung Ho, for the organization, for the fans. It was almost magic. I feel really sad....

It is a shame how his career has gone. I was very excited when he signed with the Pirates. He had a great season in 2015 before he was injured by Coughlin of the Cubs. When he returned in 2016 he was doing well until the news of the possible assault in Chicago. After this became public information his season declined, and then the accident last December in Korea. It is sad because I believe he would have been star if he did not have these incidents which derailed his career.

He has no one to blame but himself. Such a waste of a promising career.

Thanks for posting the link, VA. An excellent article. I hope he gets his release and can revive his career with his home club. I think his days in the US are done.

I still wouldn't give him his release from the Pirates. Does this mean he can't play in the KBO or the Pirates won't let him?

I wouldn't release him either. With Kang, we are on the same page Dog. I'm not convinced it's over. we control his rights for 2019 as well.
Don't release him.

I don't understand why the Pirates wouldn't get back the two years he missed? I know he isn't getting paid, but he should be under control until 2021, assuming he will be eligible next year.

Just out of spite more than anything. The other part would keep him in the restricted list and rot though.
