Would the Yankees want Josh Harrison straight up for Clint Frazier?
I would do that move. Frazier is blocked. The Yankees could use a 3B/2B. This would make moving McCutchen a little easier.

The Pirates got three players who were on the forty-man roster and only gave up one, so there either has to be another trade or someone (or several someones) get DFAed. You wonder if NH has trades lined up to make this work. I could see Harrison going to the Yankees and Cutch to someone.

Turley and Vielma can be DFA'ed without much pain. That's how we got 'em. Still a horrible trade!

As it stands right now, there is no reason to keep Cutch. Moving him is actually an easy decision.

Literally - Harrison is going to be one of the very few players worth watching on this team. The fans are going to be left nothing.

I don't think moving Cole has any significance regarding Cutch. While I don't think this team is competitive, it wasn't competitive the day before the Cole trade either. They didn't just trade a star pitcher with a 19-8 record and a 2.60 ERA. That was 3 seasons ago. They just traded a pitcher who in the last 2 seasons was 19-22 with a 4.12 ERA and more hits than innings and gave up the 2nd most HRs (31) in the NL last year. Last year there was little difference between Cole, Nova, Williams, Kuhl and Taillon. They were all just fair at best so removing any one of them--Cole included--doesn't signal any type of collapse. Cutch will probably be traded--maybe at the deadline--because of his pending free agency. Not because trading one of 2017's mediocre starters signals a total rebuild.

I was expecting an outfielder in return for Cole. Meadows isn't ready. Is Luplow? This is why I propose Harrison for Frazier. With no outfielder to replace McCutchen, might be hard to trade him.

Well they had no OF to replace Marte when he was on suspension so I don't think they will care if there is a replacement for Cutch.

Yeah, they'll use Lupolw and Osuna if they move Cutch.

At least Osuna's water buffalo style athleticism in the OF provides some comic relief.
