Found this link, found it interesting that a SS was predicted for the Buccos.

I suppose it's easier for people to move from SS to other positions than the other way around.

It takes years for guys to make it to the majors. They should always take the best player available and not based on position.

Yeah, at least in the very lowest levels, it seems like the best natural athlete on the team is often put in at SS.

while it is early, it is a plus that it looks like he is considered to have defensive ability to stay at short.

I have seen two mock drafts that have Madrigal slipping to us at 10. We seem to have a fetish with middle infielders.

I immediately think of Cole Tucker when you state this....he wasn't the best available, but could be a pretty decent pick when alls said and done.
