The smooth glovework of Steven Alemais gets him the #28 spot. We have reached the point in the proceedings where we know for sure that at least one player above will not be in the final top 40. Added Brandon Waddell, who seems to me like he's been in the system forever (maybe because I've seen him pitch for Altoona in back-to-back years). A college guy but younger than some of the lower level prospects on the poll.



Cody Bolton is the only remaining requested player who hasn't been added, but there are others who probably deserve to be added soon- be they high draft picks that haven't done as well as expected, guys who got votes last year (16 of them, 10 who made the top 40), some of the other pieces acquired in trades, or last year draft picks not yet mentioned. Let me know who you think. I can go up to 15 nominees, have been running with 13.

Forgive me for being all over the place. I'm moving off of Chris Bostick after reading and deliberating about his prospects in a crowded INF picture.

Instead, I considered Neverauskas and Kranick. I'll go with the higher ceiling.

Any room for Jin De Jhang? In an ultimate display of "small sample size" I saw him hit two home runs in a game for Jamestown, so a far as I'm concerned he's a stud.

Jhang was #19 last year but suffered through a terrible, injury-riddled year. One thing I hadn't noticed is that there are no catchers in the top 28 and only one (who recently moved behind the plate part-time) has been nominated. Jacob Stallings still qualifies, and Christian Kelly started last year hot. Deon Stafford and Jason Delay were fairly high picks last year. There's always room for Jin-De. Read his teammates call him Johnny and he has a brother catching in the minors who spells his name Chang not Jhang.

I pushed for Jhang as a break-out candidate last year -- the year before I was pushing Frazier on the board. It was a tough one for Jhang.



I haven't been really active on OBN this year, but I wanted to throw Bligh Madris' name out there. I thought Tristan Gray and Madris were our best players at West Virginia last year. TB grabbed Gray in the Dickerson deal.



Madris was considered one of the best bats in DIV II and was a bit of a surprise as our pick in the 9th round. A 6'2" and 200 lbs OFer, he handled himself well at WV making the All-Star team, though he seemed to run out of steam at the end of the year.



I love Vegas kids -- Vegas puts a lot of players in the majors. I'm expecting a break out from Madris this year as I think he has the bat to be a very good player. Maybe not an OBN Top 30 at this point, but if we go 40, he might deserve some consideration.



And we all know that Captain Bligh HAS to happen!
