Pirates sign Hwan Bae from South Korea. One of the prospects taken from Atlanta by MLB. 19 years old.

I hope they keep him away from a guy named Kang, please! Would be nice if he turned into a SS that hit like a certain Japanese OF who just signed with the Mariners! An Ichiro guy!

brave scout called him a left handed hitting trae turner, sounds like a good signing, I am sure Nutting will make sure he is traded for a bucket of balls and international signing bonus money....LOL

For the cost, which could not have been exorbitant, the possibility of bringing in a talented prospect makes all kinds of sense. Now, let's see what he can do on the field. He'll play in short season, so he will have plenty of time to get acclimated.

I wish we could have spent the $$$ on someone for this roster that helps instead of a 19-year old S. Korean. We are still waiting for our S. Korean to return too.

I think you can forget about the South Korean you mentioned. He will never return to the Pirates. They have moved on.

There's more good news to this. If he does start with the short season team, we can expect plenty of scouting reports from Possum. Enough of those stadium hot dogs, Possum - take your notebook along and give us reports!

I've totally forgotten about him - long ago. What was his name again?

Kiss of death. That rarely happens for us when comparisons come out like that. I would love to see a left handed hitting Trae Turner. Something tells me this kid will be a non hitting Jason Turner.

I think his chances of becoming Trea Turner are very slim. If even a couple teams thought that was case he would get a lot bigger bonus.
