so 4 of the top 41 were traded, 7 lost rookie eligibility. This did not include draft picks or players who made their state-side debut this year. I would guess after #2 on next year's poll it will be wide open.

Looks like the Bucs overall ranking will take quite a hit next year with only 2 guys looking like Top 100 prospects -- Hayes and Keller. But this is the guy that makes you wonder about prospect lists.

Prospect lists are very much reactive, they basically just clump together the top draft picks and international signings that perform the best. They are very much designed to search for potential impact players, but not able to identify potential average to above average regulars. Guys like Reyes and Frazier that have pretty low ceilings are off the radar, but can be valuable assets.

Your reasoning is why I don't pay much attention to "national" prospect rankings. I do subscribe and read P2 everyday. P2 has a pretty good idea of just what the prospects for the Pirates can do including the avg to above avg players like Frazier can do. But in all cases it seems that most prospects no matter their ranking are just crapshoots, ie Luis Heredia and Stetson Allie.

Why stock down on Will Craig though? Before this season the knock on him was that he wasn't hitting for power like they expected and "never will" according to "experts."
