Brault tonight and Kingham on Wednesday. Yikes!
Hard for me to imagine Brault lasting for more than 3 innings without walking in a couple of runs in addition to being hit hard.
Without Kingham in the BP, there are essentially without a long man. Tyler Lyons didn't look up to the task on Sunday, and Feliz, Krick, and Liriano appear all to be 1 inning folks.
Perhaps they designated J.B. Shuck prematurely. Could have used him to take a beating (although he pitched quite well).
I am really hoping that I am wrong, but I am expecting some ugly games the next 2 nights.

Hurdle said that Feliz, Liriano and Nevergetanout can all go 2 innings.
I predict Brault will walk the first batter he faces. And others.

Should there be an over/under on how many balls Gallo will hit into the river between tonight and tomorrow?
over/under .5
I'll say over
over/under .5
I'll say over

This is the price you pay when you are perfectly willing to go into a season with 4, maybe 4.5 at the most, legitimate major league caliber starters.
You need about 7.
The Pirates are happy with 4.
Thus ... Brault and Kingham.

this means they can throw enough pitches to get through 2 innings. I don't know if they can go through 2 innings very often where they are effective. It would be great if they can be effective for multiple innings.
None of them have a track record of doing this consistently in the majors.

Pirates are still up 5-4 after 6 and one-half innings.

A nail biter but a win is a win.
