The 1961 Pirates only stole 26 bases and were caught 30 times. Joe Christopher led the team, stealing 6 bases in 10 tries. Bill Virdon was second with 5 steals in 13 tries. The 26 steals were the lowest SB total in MLB and they were the only team caught stealing more than they were successful.

Given the percentage, you have to wonder how many CS's were busted hit-and-runs.
