Cruz grounds into a double play, Freeman and Betts show the Pirates how it's done. I don't think there was any way that Cruz is beating that out, but he didn't look like he was at full speed going down the line

Okay, is Shelty going back to Bednar as the closer, what with a couple of good innings after his return? Not sure he earned it, and if he blows this, Shelty is going to have some answering to do with how well Santana has been pitching.

Okay, go get them Renegade

Walks Edman, who was 0-3 with 3 strikeouts.

Okay, let's just get our own double play, and call it a night

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE STRIKES OUT CONFORTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!!!

Okay Blockhead, NOW bring up the shutout. Pirates first shutout in Dodger Stadium since 2010. Bednar's first save against the Dodgers.

Shelty comes out smelling like a rose, but I still hate him, but good bullpen management tonight, and good job bringing Skenes out to face the righty before bringing in Borucki to face a lefty

Hayes gets the unfortunate post game interview. Not Cruz, not Skenes, not Bednar. They must draw straws. The only difference between Hannah and Robbie is she's easier on the eyes, but the same stupid questions.

Sellout crowd of 53,655 and they never really ever had much to cheer for.

3-1 on the road trip. Can we get one more win?

I'm hoping next chance Gorski gets, he makes it impossible for Shelty to justify sitting him again. Pham has the big contract, so we know we're stuck with him till at least the break. Canario needs to join Suwinski. Time to give Solak his shot, just like Gorski. He's mashing at Indy right now.

On a Friday night at Dodger Stadium unless you get there by 4:30 in the afternoon for a 7:00 game it will take you over 2 hours just to get in the parking lot. Then you will have a 30-45 minute walk to get in the stadium. You are right that fans get there by the third inning and then 25-50% will leave depending on the score after the 7th inning in order to beat the crowd leaving.

You want to hear something crazy?
It is actually cheaper for me to fly back to Pittsburgh and take in a 3 game series including airfare and hotel than it is to drive 3 hours to Dodger Stadium and see a 3 game Pirate series.

I guess what bothers me about it is I'm tired of seeing guys in our lineup with batting averages below .200, and he's at .136 right now.
Agreed. Davis should have been given a hit. Perhaps it will be changed tomorrow. Also I’m on the Pham must go bandwagon. We just can’t afford to carry a .170 hitting OF with 0 HR.
BC needs to admit it was a poor decision and eat the contract
