Will Nutting fire both Shelton and Cherrington at the same time? Who will Nutting trust to pick his next management team?

I would fire them both and name Kelly, the interim manager, and whoever the assistant GM is, make him the interim GM. That way, they would have the rest of the season to show if they deserve to be kept on or, if not, Nutting would have the off-season to find replacements.

Good plan, I think if Ben goes it has to be within the next week or so and the sooner to better so he has less influence on this year's draft.

This may not be the worst thing to do. I think the one thing they want to avoid is for Bob to come up with a 12-point search criteria to guide them in filling the opening.

One thing here: at least one of the assistants, Sarah Gelles, is another Amherst product.

Kevan Graves, Dartmouth; Steve Sanders, Northwestern; Bryan Stroh, Princeton/UVa Law. Sanders was with BC in Toronto.

If Cherington was let go, I would think Steve Sanders would leave shortly thereafter. Sanders was one of Cherington initial hires.

Could tomorrow be the day? This road trip was .500 but they gained no ground. Same amount of games under .500 as they were last Sunday. I would not be shocked if Nutting pulled the plug.

What's hard to believe is that a World Championship hockey coach gets fired before Shelty. The Pens made the move today.

The people running this organization haven’t done anything right, except for drafting Skenes (which if they didn’t, MLB would’ve had to have had an investigation), in nine years. I have no expectations that either Shelton or Cherington will be fired before the last week of the season.

In my opinion every series here on out is very important for Shelton. A losing streak even of 4 games could be the end of his tenure. He is on a very short leash.
