NLCS - Braves vs DaBums
Something to kick around.. unsure if relevant. You decide:
Stud QBs (and, some stud NBA players) have agreed to restructure their contracts over the years.
Why?
Because they know that they need guys around them to win. It allows their team to spread some money around to keep or get guys. I don't follow the NHL closely enough to know if hockey players have done it.
I'm not sure that the same culture holds true in MLB.
I don't want to discuss "reasons." We can point fingers at the players, the union, the agents, or whatever. Those other sports have them, too.
It just seems different to me. I'm sure it's happened in baseball. I'm not sure that it happens often.

Check out the interview Chris Taylor had on the field with a reporter after the game last night. At one point, the reporter asked him about his humble, giggling reaction to the curtain call he got and he said that he never looks cool doing anything. Sounds like a pretty good guy.
He's the classic example of a utility player who knows his role and does it so well.

Both the Braves and the Astros both have 3-2 leads in their respective playoffs. My advice to them is, don't get over confident. Remember Bucs -Braves 1992

Shoot, that's only 29 years ago. I remember it well. We won our first state championship. We paraded around Wildwood in a horse and buggy

I can see it now. Two baseball teams, on their phones, looking up Wikipedia, saying, "What's this guy talking about- 1992? Might as well be talking Pearl Harbor." Geez.

Joe Kelly out too. Replaced by David Price.
Watch him be the next Barry Zito
