No one reached base.  21 up, 21 down.

He gave up 4 hits , so pretty sure that didn't happen . But no big deal , you just read the game log wrong.
Yeah, he wasn't perfect thru 7. He retired the first 13 batters before yielding a 1-out double in the 5th. Then a leadoff single in the 6th followed by a DP. Also a 2-out single in the 7th and a leadoff single in the 8th. No walks, 9 Ks. Outstanding game.

I was listening to the post game after the Pirates game. They started to talk about Kuhl and how he needs to pitch well and get past that sixth inning this weekend. Then one of the guys brought what Brault did and said he was perfect through seven innings.

I guess more Fake News, sorry for the bad report. Not sure why the post-game would say that?

Either way it was another outstanding game for Brault.

Brault's last 10 games. Not sure how you can keep him down in AAA much longer at the rate he is going. An impressive streak. And I've said it on here before -- I'd love to see a LHP in our starting 5. I would think that at the very latest we'll see him after the All-star break.

Maybe it was just misspoken, meaning to say "scoreless through seven."

He deserves the call up. Again, Kuhl is on the ropes (the Jeff Locke syndrome).

I wasn't a fan of putting Kuhl in the bullpen, but with Brault, it might be a good idea. Kuhl can come into games and just throw gas.

Fake news is no doubt the "in thing" for our media. No big deal. That said I'm wondering what Brault has to do to be promoted as the only LHP on a pretty average pitching staff ?

Personally, I hate the term "fake news."  It seems to me to be a euphemism for, "I have a different opinion than you."  Unless it actually is fake, in which case, I have a different term for it, "Lying."

Regardless, yes, Brault deserves a shot.  I suspect that if he had been drafted by the Bucs, fans would be clamoring for his call-up.  That fact that he was acquired in a rather under-the-radar deal, I believe, works against him.

might be a management thing...the starting 5 was set out of spring training and that was that. No injuries so no spot yet.
