Either way, I agree that going forward a Dias/Cervelli split maybe going 60/40 either way might be a good way to go.  I still like Stewart as a backup C but of course in that situation there is no room for him. Stewart shouldn't be the backup anymore. The guy can barely hit his weight so far this season. Stewart has overall done a good job as the Pirates backup catcher the last 3 years or so but it's time to move on from him now. The Pirates are a better team with Diaz on the roster.

Agree.

I understand you want catchers playing every day, but it is time for Diaz to make the jump. Stewart is a weak player and probably why Cervelli plays as much as he does. With Diaz, you might be willing to use him more than you would with Stewart.

Also, with Rodriguez, Jaso is not needed.  Rodriguez changes things too.

Agree 100%.sRod is an Outstanding defensive 1bman. Jaso is serving no purpose at all.

Walker would have been a LH bat replacement for him. Granderson a legit OF LH bat replacing him.

Polanco is done this year. It's not worth his nursing that hammy and prob not playing well due to it even when/if he returns.

Are we really going to let Jaso play OF and take more at bats? Come on NH

yes, you need to get someone just in case a miracle happens and the team makes the playoffs. Somebody has to take Marte's place.

Why Jay Bruce should have been went after hard when Polanco went down the first time when they were just 2 games out and a game over .500.

Who needs Bruce when you can choose from among Moroff, Luplow, Bostick and Oritz. If only Gosselin hadn't been claimed.

I'd rather have Luplow than about anyone else we could add at this point.

Yeah, knew that was coming eventually.

If you wait long enough, a guy with 100 AAA at bats, and no MLB experience will start looking like a good idea.  He's better than Jaso.  In theory, he's a natural OF.

Edit. Nvm. He's a 3bman that moved to O8F.

I didn't really watch much baseball the last few days. How did Cervelli get hurt?

Just seems to be an accumulation of pain from a lingering hand injury. Still has pain from last year's hand surgery.
