I really don't know what is going on right now.  Frazier and Gosselin were playing some SS this spring.  We know that Frazier is not a very good fielder (yet).

Harrison is very good in the infield.  I am not sure if I would want to move him around so much based on what bench player is starting.  I like consistency and keeping a starter in the same position.

Don't we pretty much know that none of them can play SS well?   They can all fill-in but I believe they're all very defensively suspect over any extended stretch (at SS) . I mean, Frazier has defensive issues at 2nd so SS would only be worse. Jhay doesn't have the arm to play short regularly. Gosslen I don't know much about except for his stat sheet, and he barely plays SS.

Last year, NH said he expected Kang's knee to be healed enough by 2017 that he could play some SS. So that was the plan for a backup SS. Without Kang, they have no legit backup SS so it made sense that all their utility infielders got some time at SS in ST. Frazier was primarily a SS in the minors but is regarded as a below average fielder. Gosselin and Harrison have each played sparingly at SS in their careers. Hanson can fill in too. I suspect any of them can be used to give Mercer an occasional off day but if Mercer were hurt, we might see Newman recalled to fill in for an extended period.

I agree not all play the position well. I, too, don't know much about Gosselin's defense.

I just think Harrison should stay put at 2B if a bench player is going in at SS or 3B. Even though he is the best fielder, I like the starters to stay put. I hate shuffling the line up or defense to make room for a bench player. Just plug in the bench player, keep everyone else the same.

I feel that Nova has a hella season for us. The guy actually chose to play here. He might be our next Drabek. 19 -11

Tallion will be 17 -8 ....Just wait and see.

Cole 15-15 ...This guy is counting the days to leave for the bright lights. I dont care for him . But he is a good one

Kuhl under fire will pitch till his arm falls of .And he will be rewarded with a solid 15 - 10 win season and 27 quality starts .

I think we should offer drew Hutchison to Toronto for Lirano straight up. We will take on the salary and they can even keep Ramirez and mcGuire.

They would do that deal in a heartbeat. Who wouldn't?

And his 5+ ERA? No thanks. Why are you forgetting how bad Liriano was last year?

Liriano had a good spring. But as exhibit A of how meaningless ST stats are, Tanaka led MLB in ERA, WHIP, and BAA.  He's given up five in two innings so far in games that count.

That said, I'd love to give Liriano the ball every fifth day.  My preferred order of 5th starter would have been Liriano, Brault, Glasnow, Williams, Hutchison.

Edit:  Check that...6 runs in 2.1 IP, including two dingers.
