Also, I have a hard time believing Bastardo is better than people we have in AAA.
Bastardo is making a bit of cash. Do you expect the Pirates to release Bastardo? I don't. He is basically immoveable unless we ship off Meadows and some other good prospect and get back the third coming of Drew Hutchinson. They had no takers in the offseason.

How about Possum siting at two of the 3 games with his grandkids from Seattle enjoying them enjoying the game experience. No matter the outcome of the game that is priceless!

They have done it in the past. So yes, they can do it again.

They have done it in the past. So yes, they can do it again.
How often have they done that? Wandy was one. I can't think of others off hand. We all know how precious every penny is to the Bucs but they may have no choice but to release Bastardo. I'm sure they keep using him in hopes he becomes effective enough to either trade or use without being awful. But so far he's been a disaster in all 4 of the games in which he's appeared.

Morris, Sanchez, Iwamura, Rodriguez. Does Hughes count? I am not sure what he was making.

Yeah, seems there's been a few but not too recently. I read that they must pay Hughes 695 thousand this year. That's not much over the MLB minimum.
