Will Showalter/Britton fiasco change closer philosophy?

I actually thought last night was a good time to try Watson a vote of confidence. But the hook should have been quicker after things started turning South.

this is what I expected too. I can't imagine Watson pitching the next save situation.

According to the PPG today, Hurdle says he isn't changing anything in the bullpen. That fits right in with TBMTIB's philosophy of doing nothing.

An article over at BD had an interesting idea today that maybe Chad Kuhl would look pretty good coming out of the bullpen.

Taillon to the Rotation

Chad Kuhl to the bullpen

Johnny Barbato to the icy void

According to this article, he said that Tuesday, then changed his tune after last night.

"[Giving Watson a brief blow is] something that we talked about earlier, and I think we will have an opportunity to discuss some things on the way back tomorrow," Hurdle said. "We have to reassess who is available tomorrow as well, so that'll be a thought."

Kuhl did hit 100mph yesterday. I never saw him throw that hard before.

Kuhl had his "Jeff Locke" game. Pitched well when a possible demotion was near.

Let's hope so.

Watson now throws 91-92.. once in a while 93. He used to throw 94-95.

What do you consider way ahead, I kinda thought 4 runs were pretty good.
