I don't get bashing the Pirates as you praise the Penguins. Social media was ripping the Pirates some compared to just honoring what the Penguins accomplished. Oh well, just a negative world we live in.

You don't get it? I'll try to simplify that which I though was obvious. Let me try - I think it's sad that the Pirates had a chance to lift a trophy themselves. I see what the Pens do for the city, for the fans, for the players. I see a team that added critical pieces when injuries hurt the team. I see another organization that is just the opposite. Complete opposite.

I personally find the juxtaposition of the organizations sad for all pirate fans. You care more for Bob Nutting then you do the organization, the fans or the city. I don't understand that.

Oh well, such blind loyalty.....

I sincerely hope you now have a greater understanding and a deep appreciation for my concern. ::)

I know the faults in the Pirates. I just don't get why rip the Pirates when praising the Penguins. They are two different teams, sports, league rules.

Mario Lemeuix is the greatest Pittsburgh sport figure of all time. It also took him ten years to win the Stanley Cup. I would never take away anything Mario has done for hockey or the city of Pittsburgh. I certainly wouldn't rip another city's team in order to praise another either.

It's an exciting night for the Pirates and their fans to see the Stanley Cup. Yet, some have to make it a negative thing. I find that sad.

He is doing great, if he is able to keep playing like this the team could get back in the hunt (get to 500 first and go from there).

Well, you be sad over a fan who "rips" the owner. I'll be sad for fans who will never see a Pennant much less a WS because the owner doesn't care.

So we're both sad. Your sad because I questioned the motives of a billionaire owner. Im sad for the fans who the owner cares nothing about.

Just two sad pirate fans going in totally different directions...

I am glad Rivero was still brought in too. No save situation.

Very good win!

Brewers (of all teams to be watching) lose the 1st of a double header. Pirates are somehow only 3.5 back.

How big is the series with the O's? Take back those two blown games and we're only 1.5 back.

My three Stars:

3. Jaso

2. Cole

1. McCutchen

First four game win streak of the season. Bell stayed in the whole game. Jaso with a huge pinch hit HR. McCutchen's first multi-HR game of the year. Nicasio and Rivero closed out Cole's great outing. The Cup was in the house too.

Raise it!

I'm in a minor state of shock over this unexpected 4-game winning streak, Cole's return to normalcy tonight and most of all Cutch tearing it up and OPSing over 1.000 since he moved into the No. 6 spot. Man this team is SO DIFFERENT, and SO MUCH BETTER, when Cutch is raking like the Cutch of old. I just hope it lasts, because if it does -- and I know that's a big if -- this team might just be able to hang around all season and steal it in the 2nd half.
