Vegas had the Pirates -140 to win this series. Now, we know why.

That actually means the Pirates were the favorites to win

The only redeeming reason to watch the rest of this game are the Randi Hoffman commercials

I hope Nutting is sitting in his suite and is as embarrassed as he should be.

Cole - i've also had it with him. And I'm sick of his attitude. Bottom line, he's not good enough to beat a terrible team even if given the lead. Move him. Move the bums in the pen.

This is a game that will drive everyone away. Good.

With Kuhl as tomorrow's starter I expect a roster move prior to the game tomorrow to help the bullpen.

I don't know why a pitcher as gifted as Cole has so darned many truly bad outings. But I'm reminded of the Orioles' Ubaldo Jimenez. Jimenez won 15 games in 2009. In 2010, he was 19-8 with a 2.88 ERA in the AL, very similar to Cole's 19-8, 2.60 in 2015. But Jimenez has become very problematic. Usually very bad but every so often he puts together a great game or even a good stretch of games. His problem is that he has difficulty repeating his delivery. When he gets his delivery right, he's very good. But there are many games when he can't repeat it, can't duplicate the right motion or release point and is awful. His last outing was 8 innings of 2-hit, shutout ball. The game before that 7 hits, 9 runs and 4 walks in 2.1 innings. Before that it was 4 hits and 2 runs in 7 innings. You get the idea. He has the ability to be very good so why is he so often so bad? Cole is younger and better than Jimenez. But I wonder if they have similar problems? As emotional as Cole gets, I wonder if he gets out of sync on the mound and loses his rhythm, changes his delivery, etc. For a guy who's shown how good he can be, he has way too many awful games.

Yes, but very low. Usually between -180 to -210 for favorites.

I think that play at first rattled Cole. It's like everything has to go perfect for him to dominate. He was probably mad at himself, Bell or a combo of both.

One time, I would like to see him pat the guy on the back after a mistake or take the blame. Tell Bell that was his fault and move on.

I've always wondered if Cole was well liked in the clubhouse. No one ever says anything bad about him, but I wonder deep down.
