We're going to have to agree to disagree on that one.

My view: The Giants won 26 straight with one game in the middle that was rain-interrupted and REPLAYED in its entirety.

But you (and MLB) are ignoring the fact that the 1-1 game counted. It was not "replayed" as if it hadn't occurred. All stats counted because it was an official game. An extra game was played. But it did not replace the game that officially ended 1-1. That's different from playing 4 innings and getting rained out and playing the game over. The fact remains the Giants played 155 games instead of the usual 154. (Not that unusual as they played 155 the year before as well. The 1960 Pirates also played 155 games because of a curfew tie). Obviously, MLB sees it your way but I didn't want to leave it as "CLEARLY" winning 26 straight when that streak included wins in games 135 and 137 but not in game 136. Because a strong case can be made to refute that 26 game "streak." The reality is that it was a 27-game streak without a loss and included 26 wins with streaks of 12 and 14.

Just as MLB long ago revisited their criteria for no-hitters and took some off the books, I think the publicity over this legit Indians' streak might cause them to revisit the Giants' 26-game (out of 27) winning "streak" that included a non-win (dare I say "tie?").

The stats counted but the result did not.

It was not officially recorded as a tie.

Their final record that year does not include a tie.

Yes, the stats counted. They counted from a game that counted. Everyone who appeared in it was credited with a game played. Ignoring the fact that it was a 1-1 tie game doesn't mean it never happened. That "record" needs to be revisited.
