And IA, a total boycott sounds really hard right now, but I tell you I'm getting closer and closer.  Maybe that really is the only way to save this franchise.
I also agree with Aaron. I've often said Nutting knows no GM could do any better under the constraints he works under. Nutting hands NH a jar of sludge to stir and NH stirs it as well as can be expected.

What I did was stop going to games with friends a few times per year. I still go with my son and wouldn't deprive him from ML baseball because the Org is poorly run.

It's not his fault so we still go and will continue to go. But yes, I've attended zero games otherwise. I don't need to go

It's notable that Hutchison wasn't awful in AAA this year (.356 ERA, 1.293 WHIP) but never earned a call up. Not even in September. But we hardly noticed with all the free agents and trades that were made utilizing the financial flexibility that the trade gave them. Oh, BTW-Reese McGuire hit .278 in AA this year.
FWIW, McGuire has only been healthy enough to play 60 total games with the Blue Jays minor league teams since he was traded. 49 at the AA level, where he's hit .262 in 168 AB's. He has thrown out 30% of would be base stealers in that short time (18 of 60).

dmetz, like you I will not do my usual 5-6 games a year but will go to a couple next year if my grandkids come in from Seattle early in the season. And I want to keep my consecutive years going to games alive at 60 next season.

But my primary baseball fix will not begin until mid-June when the WV Black Bears the Bucs A- short season team begins play. I will most likely try to make at least 10 of their games and enjoy seeing kids trying to develop into real prospects.

Look for my sig to change next year to something about the Black Bears.

Is 60 steal attempts in 49 games a lot?

Yes, McGuire has been hurt a lot. But he hit .278 this year in AA in 136 ABs with an OBP of .366. He's always been considered a very good defensive catcher. The Pirates and some fans tried to justify the giveaway by saying this former #1 pick wasn't much of a prospect. But if he stays healthy and hits like he did when he played this year, the Blue Jays will be very happy with him.

He also hit 6 homers this season and now has 10 for his career. Has only struck out 158 times and has walked 122 for his career. I bet his success in small sample size this season has put him back on prospect map. He is going to play on the same winter ball team as Kang.

They're only incompetent if they aren't reaching their goals.

They continue to reach the goal, which is profitability and tremendous growth in the value of the franchise.

In the eyes of Bob Nutting, NH is the most competent person he has in his employ. He's a loyal soldier and was rewarded with four more years of being paid millions of dollars to be the idiot that stands at the podium and defends the BS they pull off in the name of profits.

Unfortunately, this is very true. Sad reality for the fans.
