2 innings of the Brown/Walk Comedy Show was more than I could stomach. Let's see how the Phillies broadcast looks.

Phillies announcers are normally pretty good. The only time I struggle listening to them is on a Sunday home game when Mike Schmidt is in the booth. He's pretty boring to listen to. John Kruk, when he is on the broadcast, is pretty funny.

An unassisted DP by the pitcher. Not bad.

3 hits each for Reynolds and Cruz. 3 sac flies for Tellez. Cruz out by his hair.

7-6.

Pittsburgh has cornered the market on hair plays. Cruz tags up at 1B and makes a great slide trying to avoid the tag at 2B but gets tagged on the hair for the out. Years ago Troy Polamalu intercepted a pass and was tackled by his hair.

I thought the double steal was a gutsy call. Great win.

going to look at comments on Philly blog, this was the lead in the story previewing the series:

After an unpleasant end to the first half of the season, the Phillies will attempt to get off to a good start in the post-All-Star portion of the season. Their first opponent will be a mediocre one, but considering the gauntlet they have ahead of them, they need to take advantage of such mediocrity, especially since the Pirates will not be utilizing their most dangerous weapon.
