Everyone makes them, but Pittsburgh makes them more than almost everyone.  Is there a harm?  No.  I prefer signing solutions than failed 26-year old prospects.   Atlanta signs  Colon, Marlins - Volquez and we get this guy. 


You think the Pirates are going to use him like the Braves will use Colon and the Marlins will use Volquez? They aren't. He is a low cost, high reward type signing. If he stinks, he will be gone just like Liz (who was mentioned). He will not be given 20-30 starts if he is not pitching well. Hell, he might not even get one start if he is even pitching well.

Yep, sounds a lot like Liz. No harm in trying. You never know when a guy in his mid 20's is going to click!
