I'm almost speechless over Nova.

One walk this SEASON.

4 walks since last Aug. 1.

Those numbers are insane.

I was lukewarm on the trade last summer but obviously I was wrong. You could make an argument that right now Ivan Nova is the most effective starter in the NL. The stats back it up.

And I think Gift's mojo has maybe turned this team's defense around.

Pretty amazing that after all that has happened this month with both Marte and Kang still not being back, Freese who has been their best hitter has missed a week, and this offense being so bad that they actually have a chance to finish .500 in the month of April with a win today in Miami. The starting pitching continues to be phenomenal night in and night out which has saved this teams backside from having an absolutely horrific month seeing how bad the offense has been.

With their schedule in April, I thought .500 would be a great start. i guess we will find out if these upcoming teams are for real or not.

Nova has been great since he joined the Pirates. He has five complete games in fourteen starts.
