The 'Ol What The Heck Thread - Pirates and Phils game 1 2

Holy Certa Comfort Mattress, Batman! I'm totally flummoxed that the spry Buccos, coming off an embarrassing 3-game sweep by the next to worst team in the NL would follow up with a loss to the worst team in the NL after having the foresight to rest the team and sacrifice yesterday's game in order to be sprightly for tonight's game. Sadly, Hurdle is ahead of his time and the rest of the NL is still inexplicably placing greater emphasis on winning games than on the satisfaction of having well rested players. Sure, anyone can win when they really try. But where's the appreciation for a manager who realizes that sitting comfortably on the bench and losing is better than running around on the field and getting worn out and winning? Just you wait and see who has the last laugh when Nutting inks the big contracts for sponsorship with Certa Mattress and My Pillow.

Pretty sure we won 98 games that year. Yet people have been complaining for like 200 years about the Pirates doing nothing. I don't get it.

Priorities! Wins aren't everything you know!

Anybody know if Mattress Firm is having a 4th-o-July sale?

Rumor has it that Hurdle bought 25 of them for the stretch drive.

After this stretch of brilliant managerial strategy, now would be the perfect time for Nutting to announce that he signed Hurdle and Huntington to secret extensions this spring.

Phillies have some bats down low that are just about ripe. They will be laughing at us next year. They can and will spend . Joke will be on us.

Very True, though they don't have much pitching in the minors

Hoskins

Cozens

Quinn

Kingery

Pitching, though, is thin
