I just watched Lazy Polanco jog to 1B on a routine grounder to 2B in the 7th. Sure, he had no chance but you still have to hustle. Maybe he was so busy sitting in the dugout last night after jogging to 2B on a would-be triple and then walking back to 3B while being picked off that he didn't notice Cole jogging into an out at 1B when the throw was way off the bag but the 1Bman was able to return to the bag with the ball as Cole trotted down the line. Obviously Lazy learned NOTHING from his debacle last night. He needs to go. Either become the 4th OFer or be traded or sold. I'd sell him for $1.48 or a bag of chips. I've gone from being disappointed in him to despising him. He's a disgrace to MLB and to the Pirate uniform.

Lazy Polanco with a hustling double to start the 9th. Maybe he heard you. I agree with you though. Yesterday's performance was a disgrace. Hurdle should have benched him and Cole for their lack of hustle

This is how this team operates they win 6 of 7 games get you a little excited and then boom they turn around and get shut out in front of a sell out crowd last night and can't score one lousy run. Just way too much inconsistency across the board from this team night in and night out. From the errors, the lazy baserunning, the bullpen struggles and just whatever else you can point out which I'm certain you can. There is a reason this team has been 6-7 games under .500 now for over a two month span.

That is 100% correct. And it's why we can't get too excited about a brief spurt of wins. They just aren't a very good team. Their sub-.500 record is not a fluke. We can look at the Cubs record and think it should be a lot better and has a very good chance of getting a lot better. But when we look at the Pirates' inconsistent starting pitching, the struggling bullpen, the lack of power, the bad defense, the bad base running, the bad managing, their W-L record seems about right. They're good enough to win occasionally but not frequently.

The quiet key to last nights loss was David Freese. He hit into a key double play and then failed to make a play on a hard hit ball right at him and that kept the inning going. I know 1-0 loss or a 4-0 loss doesn't matter, but it did change the dynamics of the game and contributed to that 3 run inning. Freese is declining badly IMO.

I agree Freese hasn't been real good over the last month to month in a half. He would be better suited on this team not playing everyday if Kang was here which we know is not gonna happen anytime soon if at all ever again. But going into next season with Freese as this teams starting 3rd baseman playing everyday if the Kang issue has not been resolved yet I am not so sure is a good idea anymore.

If there's any hope for this team (and that's a big "if") then these next 5 games are absolutely critical. CRITICAL.

So if Hurdle gives any of his key guys the day off for "scheduled rest" immediately following the A-S break, or if I see Max Moroff's name in the lineup, I am going to snap.
