What team will Ohtani choose?

The plan for their preferred site fell though just a couple of days ago. They admit to not having a plan B.

I went with the Padres.

There are some connections with his Japanese team and with the GM. The Padres GM scouted Ohtani as an amateur while with the Rangers (probably why the Rangers are in it). The Padres have a young major league team, which was on Ohtani's requests.

I do think the Cubs are a long shot based on their location, but I do fear Theo Epstein. He landed Daisuke Matsuzaka while with Boston with some fancy presentation.

The Angels have a crowded outfield and Pujols as their DH. It will interesting to see how he is used if he is on the team.
